With summer being in full swing I thought it’s time for me to share my favourite vegan smoothies with you all in honour of staying cool. So here are my three go to smoothies in all their glory. They might not be the most inventive or fancy but they are delicious and nutritious and pretty fabulous in my book. There’s a green smoothie with a zesty touch mixed with tropical fruit, a strawberry feast and a peanut butter chocolate shake for post work out or to go with your veggie burger or to enjoy with a good movie.
Personally I like my smoothies as a snack or as a part of breakfast with some toast. Throughout the years I’ve made countless ones, and I’m sure many of you have too. These are the three that have stuck with me and that I always enjoy. For example I have come to the realisation that I’d rather eat my kale sauteed with some garlic and salt rather than having that very strong green flavour in my smoothie. Because for me a smoothie should feel a little bit like a treat. How do you guys like your smoothies? I’d love to hear about your favourite combos.

STRAWBERRY COOLER
Serves 1.
INGREDIENTS:
1 banana
0,5 cup frozen strawberries
1 tbsp hemp hearts
1 tbsp milled flaxseeds
3 tbsp plant yogurt, I like oat or soy
0,5 cup oat milk, or other plant milk you prefer
A splash of water
METHOD:
Place all your ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth. With frozen items it’s always good to use a high speed blender to ensure it all blends well. You can always thaw the frozen fruit a little if you don’t have access to a high speed blender.
