Hi Guys,

Rob and I have been in Dubai for two weeks and a couple of days now. We’re working and enjoying the sun and Rob’s parents. Last Thursday we decided to film a Dubai vlog for you guys and took some time off from editing photos and videos. We had a great day exploring Alserkal Avenue in an area called Al Quoz here in Dubai. It’s an artsy hub with lots of galleries but we went there to try the food at Wild and the Moon.

Some of you who watch my youtube videos might remember and early ‘what I ate’video of us going to their soft opening last year.  The lunch was awesome and I took so many lovely photos of their space but I’m saving them for another post, don’t want to overwhelm you guys with posting everything all in one go. I know I have been guilty of that in the past so let’s keep it a little simple today, okay? 🙂 Either way you can see the awesome food and interior in the video.

We also walked around a little peeking into the galleries and enjoying the art displayed outside. I loved those cinema posters pictured here. In addition to yummy lunch and arts this area has the hands down best chocolate I’ve ever tried! Mirzam Chocolate is located a stones throw from Wild and the Moon.

At Mirzam they will let you try every single chocolate, they are not all vegan however, and the lady guiding us through all the different kinds was so sweet and very knowledgeable. The chocolate is made on site and you can see the whole process. It’s made without emulsifiers and preservatives and the flavour combinations are off the hook. We walked away with a very smokey single origin Papua New Guinea slab, a date and fennel soft centre slab and a complex mint slab with hints of verbena and thyme. I could have bought at least three more pieces to take with us home but I had to restrain myself. They actually make beautiful gift boxes as well so if you’re in Dubai and know a chocolate lover you should definitely treat them to something special from this magical place.

Now I hope you enjoy the video and stay tuned for more glimpses at Dubai this week. We’re also heading to South Africa and Mauritius at the end of the month and I can’t wait to show you some more sunny vibes from there. I’ll try to post a recipe or two in between these vlogs but until then enjoy these glimpses into what we’re getting up to! x
